Chi
A humanoid PC that was picked up and turned on by Hideki when it was left at a garbage dump. At first, she could only speak the word "chi" and had no everyday knowledge, but as she lived with Hideki, she learned what he taught her one by one.
Hideki Motosuwa
He is a 19-year-old the student who failed the entrance exam, and moved to Tokyo from the countryside. He has no money to send home, so he earns his living expenses by working part-time at a tavern while attending a cram school. He is sincere and kind to everyone, and his open and honest personality is admired by both men and women alike.
Hiromu Shinbo
A classmate at a cram school and a close friend of Hideki. Although he appears to be a lightweight, he is a passionate person who seduced an older cram school instructor, Takako Shimizu, and even eloped with her.
Chitose Hibiya
The apartment manager, whose gentle smile always soothes Hideki. She is calm and homely, but has an extraordinary talent.
Yumi Ohmura
A high school girl who works part-time at the same tavern as Hideki. She has a cheerful and friendly personality, and she adores Hideki, calling him "senpai" (senior).
Minoru Kokubunji
He is a cool junior high school student who knows as much about computers as an adult. Unable to recover from the heartbreak of losing his elder sister, he creates Yuzuki with her personality data inputted, but his feelings gradually change to love, and this worries him.

Hiroyasu Ueda
He is the manager of the confectionery store Tyrol. He loves his wife, a computer, like a human being, and has a sensitive heart, believing her to be "dead" after she was broken in an accident.
Yuzuki
A personal computer created by Minoru by inputting the personality data of his dead sister. It has specs that far exceed those of ordinary humanoid computers.
Sumomo
Shinbo's notebook PC is always in high spirits. A tambourine is used to signal incoming calls, a small flag is used to send off visitors, and a whistle is blown high during the customary "wake-up exercises. These cute little tricks are the result of Shinbo's programs.
Freya
She is the older sister of Chi (Elda), who was created as Mr. Hibiya's child. She grows up with the couple as if she were their own child, but she gradually falls in love with her father, Mihara, and is torn between her yearning for her mother and her love for her father.
Zima / Dita
A government computer tasked with monitoring Chi to ensure that its dangerous functions are not activated. Zima is the national databank, and Dita carries the security program that protects Zima.
